“No Evidence of Collusion”: House Intel Finds No Signs of Collusion Between Trump Campaign, Russia

In a bombshell announcement, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee released a draft report stating there was “no evidence of collusion, coordination or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians” after more than year-long investigation into the allegations.

President Donald Trump posted quotes from the report on his twitter in all-caps on Monday night.

The report comes as vindication for Trump, who has repeatedly called the multiple investigations into his campaign’s behavior as “witch hunts”.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Special Report” on Monday night, Republican Rep. Mike Conaway, who led the committee’s investigation, said “We didn’t find any evidence of collusion and I don’t think [special counsel Robert Mueller] will either.”

The comment comes as the focus of Mueller’s investigation has shifted away from its original charter of Russian collusion and instead towards claims Trump committed ‘obstruction of justice’ when he fired FBI Director James Comey.

Despite the Presdient’s victory lap, California Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead Democrat on the House Intel Committee, replied in a tweet that the committee’s Republicans “lack the courage to stand up to a President of their own party when the national interest necessitates it.”
